I knew you were around here for something; I don't even know that song exists...is it sad (did I miss something?) or shuld I revel in ignorance?

Revel, my friend, revel. It's on In the Dark, an album which I think we'd all agree wasn't one of their finest outings. As I recall Stones had a decent instrumental break but I haven't listened to it in years and don't have it to hand to check.

Why was In The Dark the one that became famous? I hate it so much.

Here's something interesting if you don't mind academic jargon -

(add Lady with a Fan to the list, and possibly Ship of Fools, depending on how literal you want to be about gambling or whether we can speak metaphorically ...)

Is some comment about a left hand monkey wrench appropriate here?

Well played! Any post, logically of course, that brings around a hijack to anything DEAD related, why that warrants a "mini-credenza" award (the origins of which are lost in Forum time, but it has something to do with acknowledging the kindness of Arbuthnot, and my receipt of said).

Ah, but at least the cover was better than GotoHeav, right? From white to black if I recall? Or were they both a far cry from the early era gems?

I don't think 'better' is a word that could be applied to either one; it's a coin toss as to which was the least execrable. A very far cry indeed from the glories that were Workingman's, Aoxomoxoa and Skullfuck to name a few.

I actually bought GotoHeav...80 or so? About the time I dropped out...yikes. Kids always want to get me the "second boxed set", 73 and on (after GRoad one) but I always talk them out of it, or I'd have access to all these.

Rudy's looking for a fight
Rat cat alley, roll them bones
Need that cash to feed that Jones
And the politicians throwing stones
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down
Ashes, ashes, all fall down
